Grandparents Day

Today was Grandparents Day at Aiden's school. Aiden made my day when he came running to me and jumped in my arms. Rick and I along with Jamie's dad Jim, got to participate. Jim got to participate more than us, his birthday was early September and Sherri (the director of the school and a friend of ours), had him come up to the altar at chapel. Jim "got" to wear the birthday hat and we all sang Happy Birthday to him. The rest of the kids sang songs and I TOTALLY loved every minute of it. We all went back to the class and then Rick and I, and Jim got to do a hand print picture with Aiden. We then left as the kids were released to go play. It was a wonderful day that I will treasure forever.

Yea It's Monday!!!

I only like Mondays now because of Monday Night Football, and tonight is a double header!! WOO HOO. Had a nice weekend. I got to see Alex, Jamie and Aiden on Saturday. Poor Aiden had a swollen eye. That didn't stop him from playing with the fountain, he was so funny. I got the best soaking wet hug from him before he left to go home. We then went on to Rick's company picnic, the best thing about that was I got a BBQ'd hamburger, my favorite. Then yesterday we went to a 85th birthday party for Grandma Joyce Robinson, I love her to pieces. The party was at Patti's house and she showed me her sewing room, actually it used to be a den/living room. I am so jealous of her organization of it. She even has glass front shelves with material stacked and matched. Patti and Honey are going to be finishing a quilt together before Honey has to go back to Kentucky this week. Then we ended the day with our new ritual, dinner together with Erik, Jamie, Gary and Shira. We went to Roscoes and I am eating my sandwich today, so good. Hopefully next week, Alex, Jamie, Aiden, Tyler and Shelley can join us. I already told Cindy that we are leaving the beach to come back for Sunday Dinner, I really look forward to it. We are going to have to do a bbq again soon while it is still nice at night. Oh well, back to the trenches!!!

Last night

I really enjoyed myself last night. We had people over for a BBQ and it turned out really good. Family, friends and burgers, what else do you need?? Everybody brought a dish to share and we sat in the house and backyard, finally, and visited. There was the usual revolving door of deputies, but that is a good thing. There were a few of my friends that didn't come, I guess caller ID works real good. Haven't seen Colleen in FOREVER. Today, ha ha, Rick MIGHT finish the backyard. My brother gave us the leftover sod, 30 feet, from his backyard and this prompted Rick to redo sprinklers, AGAIN, for the little bit of sod. Well, last night, everybody had to negotiate around the pallet in the middle of the patio. I have lots of prints on the floor from the wet mud and grass. At least today is another day off for Rick, so MAYBE he will get it done. This is a short week coming up and tomorrow is Taco Tuesday already. COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thursday at Sandra's

We just got home from having dinner at Sandra's with Erik and Jamie. They bought us dinner , which was a nice treat, but I feel guilty. I know how it is when you are just getting started, and this is when you let your parents take care of it. It was a nice treat and as always so great to see them. God, I miss my boys and girls!!!!!!!! I hope to get together with all of them this weekend for a BBQ. I am so desperate, I already have all the fixins for burgers and dogs. I am pathetic, I know.

PEACE AT LAST!!!

School started yesterday, YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I REALLY had a great day yesterday, because I don't do the first day of school. I just had Tristan and we went to all kinds of stores. It was so nice not to have to keep telling someone to stop running, quit pushing, leave things alone, stay off the of the shelves, and pretending to be calling moms and Santa. Now, I have a LONG list of things that I want to get done, well cleaned, that I haven't been able to because of the non-stop refereeing. I have also come across a couple of quilt patterns, dangerous, that I want to try. But, I feel guilty sewing when the house is falling down around my ears. Well, now that I have just done one of the things I didn't have the time to do for a while, I better get at it. Payton is the only one who misses the kids, she has no one to play with in the mornings. TOO BAD!
